About the event
José Soares is a Portuguese saxophonist, improviser, and educator known for his expressive language, strong musical identity, and exploratory approach to sound. He has collaborated with renowned bassist Carlos Bica in the project Carlos Bica’s 11:11 and is also the creator of the recent project and album SOMA
In this workshop, José Soares will explore the concept of Audiation — the ability to internally hear, understand, and imagine music before it is played. Inspired by the theories of Edwin Gordon and connected to improvisational practice, audiation becomes an essential tool for developing more conscious, creative, and genuine solos.
This workshop is open to musicians of all ages and all instruments, welcoming anyone interested in improvisation, creativity, and developing a deeper connection between hearing, thinking, and performing music.
