Van 26 t/m 31 mei 2026 nodigen we jou uit om deel te nemen aan een uniek saxofoonorkest! Of je nu amateur bent of conservatoriumstudent, en of je nu sopraan-, alt-, tenor- of baritonsaxofoon speelt – iedereen is welkom bij de Sax Summit.

*De repetities vinden plaats bij Fontys, waar we onder leiding van William Schaffels samen verschillende muziekstukken instuderen. William zorgt voor een ontspannen sfeer en geeft waardevolle tips om je samenspel te verbeteren.
Nieuwe toevoeging in 2026: WERELDPRÈMIERE van "TODOS" door Andy Scott
Een belangrijke nieuwe toevoeging dit jaar is "TODOS", een gloednieuw werk van componist Andy Scott. Dit stuk is speciaal geschreven voor onze TSS saxofoonorkest en twee solisten van verschillende achtergrond: één uit de jazz en één uit de klassieke.
Dit stuk is gemaakt om iedereen samen te brengen en daarom worden alle partijen op maat gemaakt voor ALLE verschillende moeilijkheidsgraden. Dit is dus een geweldige inspanning van zowel het festival als de componist om de meest inclusieve en envoudiger partijen te maken.
"TODOS" is een werk voor iedereen – passend bij de titel, want todos betekent iedereen in het Portugees.
Groot afsluitingsconcert
De vierde editie van de Tilburg Sax Summit wordt afgesloten met een spectaculair galaconcert in Schouwburg Tilburg. Tijdens dit bijzondere concert staat de saxofoon centraal.
Op het programma staan diverse ensembles en solisten! Het Astari Quartet met de
wereldberoemde solist Timothy McAllister (VS). Marcus Weiss (CH) speelt een Nederlandse première, een solostuk van G. Netti. [uan] duo brengt ook een première van de stadscomponiste Nicoline Soeter met percussionist Pedro Paixão.
Dit jaar komen conservatoriumstudenten van Fontys & ArtEz samen om te spelen als een
saxofoonensemble van het hoogste niveau, waarbij Juana Tecles Palop (ES) zowel dirigeert als soliste optreedt.
Tot slot ons geliefde TSS saxofoonorkest onder leiding van William Schaffels en met Eva van Grinsven (NL) als soliste; en, als hoogtepunt, een gloednieuw werk van componist Andy Scott: “TODOS”, met Diane Hunger (DE) en Fábio Almeida (PT) als solisten.

*Rehearsals will take place at Fontys, where we will rehearse various pieces of music under the direction of William Schaffels. William creates a relaxed atmosphere and gives valuable tips on how to improve your ensemble playing.
New addition in 2026: WORLD PREMIERE of “TODOS” by Andy Scott
This year we highlight “TODOS,” a brand-new work by composer Andy Scott. This piece was written especially for our TSS saxophone orchestra and two soloists from different backgrounds: one from jazz and one from classical.
This piece was created to bring everyone together, which is why all parts are tailor-made for ALL different levels of difficulty. This is a huge effort on the part of both the festival and the composer to create the most inclusive and accessible parts possible.
“TODOS” is a work for everyone – fitting for the title, as todos means everyone in Portuguese.
Closing concert
The fourth edition of the Tilburg Sax Summit will conclude with a spectacular gala concert at Schouwburg Tilburg. This special concert will feature the saxophone as its centerpiece. The program includes various ensembles and soloists! The Astari Quartet will perform with world-renowned soloist Timothy McAllister (USA). Marcus Weiss (Switzerland) will perform a Dutch premiere: a solo piece by G. Netti. [uan] duo will also present a premiere by city composer Nicoline Soeter with percussionist Pedro Paixão.
This year, conservatory students from Fontys & ArtEz will come together to perform as a saxophone ensemble of the highest caliber, with Juana Tecles Palop (ES) serving as both conductor and soloist.
Finally, our beloved TSS saxophone orchestra, conducted by William Schaffels and featuring Eva van Grinsven (NL) as soloist; and, as the highlight, a brand-new work by composer Andy Scott: “TODOS,” with Diane Hunger (DE) and Fábio Almeida (PT) as soloists.
