Sax Summit 2026: Speel mee in een groot saxofoonorkest!
Van 26 t/m 31 mei 2026 nodigen we jou uit om deel te nemen aan een uniek saxofoonorkest! Of je nu amateur bent of conservatoriumstudent, en of je nu sopraan-, alt-, tenor- of baritonsaxofoon speelt – iedereen is welkom bij de Sax Summit.

*De repetities vinden plaats bij Fontys, waar we onder leiding van William Schaffels samen verschillende muziekstukken instuderen. William zorgt voor een ontspannen sfeer en geeft waardevolle tips om je samenspel te verbeteren.
Nieuwe toevoeging in 2026: WERELDPRÈMIERE van "TODOS" door Andy Scott
Een belangrijke nieuwe toevoeging dit jaar is "TODOS", een gloednieuw werk van componist Andy Scott. Dit stuk is speciaal geschreven voor onze TSS saxofoonorkest en twee solisten van verschillende achtergrond: één uit de jazz en één uit de klassieke.
Dit stuk is gemaakt om iedereen samen te brengen en daarom worden alle partijen op maat gemaakt voor ALLE verschillende moeilijkheidsgraden. Dit is dus een geweldige inspanning van zowel het festival als de componist om de meest inclusieve en envoudiger partijen te maken.
"TODOS" is een werk voor iedereen – passend bij de titel, want todos betekent iedereen in het Portugees.
Groot afsluitingsconcert
Op 31 mei vindt er een groots slotconcert plaats in de Schouwburgzaal in Tilburg. Op het programma staan het Brabant Chamber Orchestra o.l.v. Amin Ebrahimi (IR) met wereldsolisten als Timothy McAllister (VS) en Marcus Weiss (CH); het gevorderde saxofoonensemble o.l.v. Juana Tecles Palop (ES); Het TSS-saxofoonorkest met een gevarieerd programma dat culmineert in “TODOS”, samen met Diane Hunger (DE) en Fábio Almeida (PT) als solisten en alle andere deelnemers, docenten en het organisatiecomité.

From May 26th to 31st 2026, we invite you to participate in a unique saxophone orchestra! Whether you are an amateur or a conservatory student, and whether you play soprano, alto, tenor, or baritone saxophone—everyone is welcome at the Sax Summit.

*Rehearsals will take place at Fontys, where we will rehearse various pieces of music under the direction of William Schaffels. William creates a relaxed atmosphere and gives valuable tips on how to improve your ensemble playing.
New addition in 2026: WORLD PREMIERE of “TODOS” by Andy Scott
This year we highlight “TODOS,” a brand-new work by composer Andy Scott. This piece was written especially for our TSS saxophone orchestra and two soloists from different backgrounds: one from jazz and one from classical.
This piece was created to bring everyone together, which is why all parts are tailor-made for ALL different levels of difficulty. This is a huge effort on the part of both the festival and the composer to create the most inclusive and accessible parts possible.
“TODOS” is a work for everyone – fitting for the title, as todos means everyone in Portuguese.
Closing concert
On the 31st May, the closing concert will take place in the Schouwburgzaal in Tilburg. The program features the Brabant Chamber Orchestra conducted by Amin Ebrahimi (IR) with world-renowned soloists such as Timothy McAllister (US) and Marcus Weiss (CH); the advanced saxophone ensemble conducted by Juana Tecles Palop (ES); the TSS saxophone orchestra with a varied program culminating in “TODOS,” together with Diane Hunger (DE) and Fábio Almeida (PT) as soloists and all other participants, teachers, and the organizing committee.
